5 RESPONSIBILITIES
5.1 Barge / Vessel Master / Barge Superintendent / Construction Manager
The Barge Master / Barge Superintendent / Construction Manager will
be responsible for the
implementation of this procedure and will monitor that all Saipem and subcontractors personnel wear
full and correct PPE for their work tasks.
5.2 Procurement
Manager
The Procurement Manager will be responsible to ensure that the procured PPE conforms to Saipem /
Project Standards and Specifications.
5.3 Section / Department Heads
The Section / Department Heads will ensure the PPE is made available and that
sufficient instruction
and training in its use and storage is given to all personnel under their control. They will ensure all
personnel under their control comply with statutory requirements and this procedure.
5.4 Chief Mate / Storekeeper
Chief Mate and the Marine Crew are responsible for maintenance and inspection of the Barge /
Vessel PPE e.g. lifejackets, immersion suits, Fire fighting PPE etc., and the
Storekeeper for storage,
inspection and maintenance of the PPE used for construction activities.
Third Party Certification Body is used to perform periodic re-certification of the PPE as per legislative
requirements.
