Current Year 12 applicants were less likely to accept an offer compared with non-Year 12 applicants in 2016 (acceptance rate of 73.6% compared with 78.4% respectively).
Gender
Acceptance rates differed slightly by gender. Of all male applicants who received an offer, 77.6% accepted an offer, compared with 75.9% of female applicants.
Field of Education
Health recorded the largest increase in acceptances (5.4%). This was followed by Information Technology (2.3%) and Creative Arts (1.5%). Engineering and Related Technologies (-10.0%) recorded the largest decrease in acceptances, followed by Management and Commerce (-5.1%). Acceptance rates were relatively low for Dental Studies (67.5%) and Veterinary Studies (70.6%).
