SADC ICT structures further strengthened in order to achieve socio-economic development and regional integration
3 position papers aimed at regional integration were developed which focused on Policy and Regulatory harmonization, Broadcasting Digital Migration and Reform of the postal sector.
DOC participated in 2 meetings aimed at reviewing of the SADC ICT Policy. The outcomes of which was the development of a new ICT Policy document incorporating telecommunications, broadcasting and postal sectors.
In March 2011 the DoC and ICASA Spectrum Management and Regulatory Workshop to assist Member States, Regulatory bodies and Policy makers in the understanding of modern models of spectrum management. This was followed the Founding meeting of the newly merged CRASA and SAPRA converged regulatory body.
