Resolution 1– Approval of JPSearch meeting report


WG1 approves the JPSearch meeting report of the 47th WG1 San Francisco Meeting as contained in document WG1N4906.

Resolution 2– Proposed Working Draft of JPSearch Part 2


WG1 approves the text of proposed working draft version 4 of JPSearch Part 2 contained in WG1N4880.

Resolution 3– Study Text for the Final Committee Draft of JPSearch Part 3


WG1 approves the study text for the Final Committee Draft for JPSearch Part 3 contained in WG1N4907.

Resolution 4– Proposed Working Draft of JPSearch Part 5


WG1 approves the text of proposed working draft version 3 of JPSearch Part 5 contained in WG1N4909.

Resolution 5– Appointment of Co-Editor for JPSearch Part 2


WG1 appoints Prof. Jaime Delgado (UPC, Spain) as an additional Co-Editor of JPSearch Part 2.

JPEG XR imaging system (Jpeg XR)

Resolution 7– Request for patent statements on JPEG XR image coding system


WG 1 strongly requests that all participants in the work of JPEG XR image coding system give consideration to the Resolution 46 of the 42nd (Lausanne) WG 1 meeting, "WG 1 affirmation of SC 29 resolution on IPR guidelines", with particular regard to the technology in the 29199-2 JPEG XR image coding specification, and to make patent statements to assist WG 1 in its deliberations. WG 1 requests that any patent holders of potential patents essential for implementation of 29199-2 consider making a grant to all implementers of the standard of a royalty free and license fee free license, in order to help WG 1 meet the original objectives of this standardization activity.

Resolution 8– Approval of JPEG XR meeting report


WG 1 approves the JPEG XR meeting report as contained in document WG1N4924.

Resolution 9– Approval of JPEG XR IPR AHG report


WG 1 approves the JPEG XR IPR AHG report as contained in document WG1N4910.

Resolution 10– Working Draft 4 for ISO/IEC TR 29199-1: JPEG XR image coding system – System architecture


WG 1 requests the editors of ISO/IEC TR 29199-1 to finalize for WG 1 expert review Working Draft 4 of ISO/IEC TR 29199-1 as WG1N4923 by 13 March 2009.

Resolution 11– Disposition of comments report for ISO/IEC FCD 29199-2: JPEG XR image coding system – Image coding specification


WG 1 thanks the National Bodies of Germany, Japan, and the United States for their valuable comments on the ballot for ISO/IEC FCD 29199-2, and approves the disposition of comments report as contained in document WG1N4917.

Resolution 12– ISO/IEC FDIS 29199-2: JPEG XR image coding system – Image coding specification


WG 1 approves progression of the draft text for ISO/IEC 29199-2 FDIS and requests the editors to finalize and submit for information to the HOD and ITU-T the text of ISO/IEC FDIS 29199-2 by 28 January 2009 as WG1N4918. The final version will be submitted by 16 February 2009 for ballot consideration.

Resolution 13– Consideration of camera raw image coding support in JPEG XR


WG 1 approves the JPEG XR Camera Raw coding AHG meeting to be held during 18-19 February 2009 in the Tokyo area with logistics information provided in WG1N4919 (open document). The meeting will include participation by interested parties both within and external to WG 1. Topics of work at this meeting are to include the following:

  • Study of Bayer and non-Bayer pattern raw imagery (and implications of related pre-processing, color conversion, and demosaicing signal processing),

  • Consideration of needs for support for camera metadata, and

  • Outreach to camera manufacturers for providing tutorial information on the topic and for obtaining input relating to the effort.
