Despite having June Cleaver-ish kind of manners bordering the thought that comes to mind when a name like “Prudence” reaches the psyche, Martha Stewart’s “way” has always been pretty much outspoken. Well she met her match when she tried the conscious uncoupled actress Gwenyth Paltrow who as well, is no slouch in the outspokenness and sarcasm department.

You can't knock Gwyneth Paltrow down! Martha Stewart's scathing comments about Paltrow's forays into the lifestyle arena have fallen on deaf ears.

Consciously uncoupled Paltrow spoke out about Stewart's criticism of her lifestyle website Goop at Tuesday, Oct. 7's Most Powerful Women Summit in Laguna Niguel, California.

Stewart threw shade at the Oscar-winning actress last month during an interview with Net-a-Porter's The Edit. "She just needs to be quiet. She's a movie star," Stewart said. "If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart."

But rather than feel upset, mom-of-two Paltrow insists she's flattered Stewart even considers her competition and revealed she's developed quite a thick skin when it comes to dealing with the outbursts of her critics.

"No one has ever said anything bad about me before, so I'm shocked and devastated," Paltrow said sarcastically. "I'll try to recover," she added.

"If I'm really honest, I'm so psyched that she sees us as competition. I'm so psyched. I really am," she said. "At this point in my life I don't take it personally," she said, explaining that at times she even learns "good things" from her critics.

Paltrow’s comments come days after she announced a new hire for her Goop brand -- Martha Stewart Living's former president and CEO, Lisa Gersh.

Taking the helm as Goop CEO, Gersh paid tribute to Paltrow and her vision. "As a fan since its launch, I’ve admired the inimitable voice and style Gwyneth has infused into goop, and the business she’s built," she said. "It’s rare to work with such an inspired founder and a digitally native company, a brand that thinks digitally from an organic point-of-view and successfully fuses content and revenue-generating retail.

"I set out to save myself"

Viola Davis, the star of the new ABC drama How to Get Away With Murder, delivered a powerful speech Friday at Variety’s 2014 Power of Women luncheon, telling an audience that she’s driven to end childhood hunger by memories of “abject poverty” in her own life.

“I stole for food, I jumped in huge garbage bins with maggots for food,” said Davis. “I didn’t join the hunger is campaign to save the world. I set out to save myself.”

She was recognized at a luncheon along with Jane Fonda, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Lopez for humanitarian efforts, the Associated Press reports.

Transitioning #jazzpop diva and former mom of Pop and “Monsters” put us all on notice-most probably chanting her own words “I’ll get him hot-show him what I got,” and looking pretty and jazzy (rather than poker faced) while walking through LAX this past Friday—in the middle of the afternoon.
Although she looked every bit the visual of asking how some body in a complex apartment neighborhood/community could be off-street parking a 50k vehicle (rather than a garage of a home to park it in), we’re more than sure Lady Gaga could certainly afford to hop that private jet to her destination rather than choosing to layover at LAX.
Obviously she felt as fabulous as she was looking sexy in a thong and her see-through long, lace, floral, flowing formal gown and big, curly black hair-just wanting to show it off, perhaps.
Along with her excitement and transition in music, Gaga has also been gaga with her longtime boyfriend boo NBC’s Chicago Fire’s Taylor Kinney (rumored to have gotten married yet again, as, this rumor happens several times a year)…but is it true this time and the #jazzpop Lady is singing the (white) blues?
According to our sources, just recently Kinney’s co-star Sofia Bush posted a pic of the two lovebirds with him wearing a band on his left finger and she captioned it:

“I'm REALLY excited to be on @nbcchicagofire tonight! Just about as excited as I was to see my buddy #TaylorKinney at our press day yesterday. Bear hugs are the best hugs. #ChicagoFire #ChicagoPD #ThatsHisPersonalRing #NotForTheShow #EveryoneCalmDown #LindsayAndSeverideArentMarried.”

Early this year as well, Taylor was also photographed wearing the same ring.
The mom of Pop has never done anything small and probably would have a hard time flying under a low-key radar with such a thing, but who knows, she’s probably photographed in these pics after having done just that!
Her transition from pop to #jazzpop has slowly been done right underneath our noses and if mother monster could pull that off (as she’s been doing), she probably just pulled a low-key wedding off too.
Guess we’ll see.
Gaga has worn a formal, white dress as well to a party for Jay Z and Rihanna before.

Five months ago Kinney was photographed wearing the same ring, so if the lovebirds are secretly married, it's been for a while now. Plus, we doubt these two would totally fly under the radar with a low-key wedding ... So maybe Mother Monster really IS planning something!

Rihanna had dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica on Saturday night, and while we're never surprised to see the pop superstar here, we're always curious to see what she's wearing when she turns up!

Ri wore an all-black ensemble with some seriously funky footwear, but the thing that shocked us the most was the fact that she's wearing a bra under her sheer shirt! The Bajan beauty is notorious for free-boobing it, and in an interview with Vogue earlier this year, she even stated, "If I'm wearing a top, I don't wear a bra. If I'm wearing a bra, I just wear a bra." Guess that's not always the case!

Rihanna dined at Giorgio Baldi the previous night as well, and she was joined by Dreamworks Animation CEO Jeffery Katzenberg. The 26-year-old singer/sometime actress voices one of the characters in the upcoming Dreamworks film Home, but we're wondering if the two were discussing the possibility of working on more projects together. We'd love to see more RiRi on the big screen!

While celebs may like the food at Mr. Chow’s in L.A-most notoriously known as the place to be for beginner paparazzi (therefore, the place to go for celebrities needing/in the mood for being seen)-Rihanna tends to opt for Giorgio Baldi: An Italian restaurant in Santa Monica.where she was spotted last night in a funky 3-D, 4-square toed half-past Timbaland-styled, stylish multi-colored boot, draped in a black, silk, loose-fitting pant and sleeveless blouse to match-topped of by a black (literally) out of this world jacket with painted patchwork of the galaxy plastered about throughout the wool topcoat.
Currently, Rihanna is one of the voices of the characters in the soon to be released Dreamworks called Home.
The 26 year-old pop princess was joined by Dreamworks’ Animation CEO Jeffery Katzenberg (Shrek, Madagascar and How To Train Your Dragon)—looking thrilled to be having dinner?
…getting feasted on?
..or possibly discussing a new project in the works, perhaps, eh?
Hmm.

Hey. It’s Hollywood…*shrugs*

Shonda Rhimes Calls the 'NYT' Aricle a Good Reminder of 'Casual Racial Bias & Odd Misogyny'

When Chase hired Rhimes to write The Princess Diaries 2 years later, one of the first decisions the women made was to add a black princess (Raven-Symone) to the cast.

In those early years, she also wrote the HBO biopic Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, which earned starHalle Berry a Golden Globe, and a Britney Spears dramedy, Crossroads, which earned Rhimes her house. (A Crossroads movie poster hangs in the Shondaland offices.) But her life, like that of many others, changed on 9/11. Rhimes, who was in Vermont writing a screenplay at the time, found herself reassessing her priorities, and becoming a mother shot to No. 1. When she returned home to Los Angeles, she hired an adoption attorney; less than a year later, Harper, her first of three daughters, arrived. (She adopted Emerson in 2012 and welcomed Beckett via surrogacy the following year.)

Oh…besides the condescending-veiled, New York Times article scandal published [a couple weeks ago], and having written Britney Spears’ dramedy: Crossroads (which earned her her house), the HBO biopic Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (which earned Halle Berry a Golden Globe Award, there’s more to 44 year-old screenwriter/director/producer Shonda Rhimes, than ABC, Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, and Grey’s Anatomy. And in The Hollywood Reporter’s November issue, the shy, mother of 3 opens the pages of her profession and person with the magazine—as a teaser for what’s to come when she drops her book in 2015, perhaps?

Here are a few highlights from the article:
About the New York Times article

Although friends, concerned friends, colleagues and others that wanted Shonda to have the article retracted, in just 52 words, writer Shonda had a better strategy for shedding light on such a piece from a) a well-respected/liberal paper b) such a person that typically remains, subtle, hidden, often swept under the rug [or discounted altogether as being possible coming from a woman]:

"In this world in which we all feel we're so full of gender equality and we're a postracial society and Obama is president, it's a very good reminder to see the casual racial bias and odd misogyny from a woman written in a paper that we all think of as being so liberal."
On the fact that she [just so happens] to be black/African American, why that dangling modifier has to always come into view, be necessary, or relevant when speaking about “Shonda Rhimes of Shondaland being a top show runner in Hollywood:

"They wouldn't say that someone is 'the most powerful white male showrunner in Hollywood….I find race and gender to be terribly important; they're terribly important to who I am. But there's something about the need for everybody else to spend time talking about it … that pisses me off."

Despite the fact that many of her actors [that play “assholes”] so well on Greys, Scandal, and Murder, that it must be true-to-life, what Shonda has to say about Scandal, the close-knit cast, and her “no assholes” policy:

"We're always behind. There are no Heigls in this situation," she says, choosing her words carefully. She adds later of her "no assholes" policy: "I don't put up with bullshit or nasty people. I don't have time for it."

Although Shonda has worked and earned her way into having her way into “yes” and plenty of open doors, still, she wants the option of being ‘rejected.’ Here’s what she has to say on being tied to [or “type-casted,” if you will] to a single network [like ABC] and reaching out to other networks:

“It wasn’t really about money, though don’t get me wrong, it’s very important in a world in which women are paid 77 cents on the dollar to be paid in a way that felt correct. I wanted more control. I wanted the autonomy. And I wanted to feel like if I was making shows,
I could sell them anywhere. I’m in a lovely position that whenever we pitch something, ABC buys it, which is great, but I also wanted the ability to say, ‘This is not for you’ ” -[them].

Although Rhimes wasn’t consulted and ABC’s multicultural push and inclusion efforts, she was relieved to see that efforts were being made to do so. All too often, especially since the success of what having done what is doing for tv right now, she is often asked why few nonwhite actors fronting network shows are so few, she simply has this to say to that question:

"I don't think you're asking the right person," she says. "You should ask the people who aren't doing it, why is it so hard for them?"

On the importance of being a doer rather than a dreamer:

"I wanted to be Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison. That was my dream. Then I read an article (in The New York Times) that said it was harder to get into USC Film School than it was to get into Harvard Law School, and I thought: 'I could dream about being Toni Morrison or I could do.'

And as per the The Hollywood Reporter:

“She ditched her entry-level advertising gig at McCann Erickson and was accepted at USC.”

..And as we all know: The rest is not just “history”…Both unfortunately (and fortunately) it’s making history, too.

Fresh out Bey Z’s world famous tour, in his famous words, from one of my favorite songs:

“I am him

Around the world now I’m back again

Who’s been askin’ ‘bout me?

In case you’re wonder-rer-in!

I'm right cheah, in my chair, with my crown and my dear

Queen Bee, as I share mic time with my heir
Young Carter, go farther, go further, go harder
Is that not why we came? And if not, then why bother?”

…art imitated life in a way for rapper Jay Z in the city of ‘Par-ree.’

The Carter’s were spotted out catching some culture in the city where it all began:

[Where] the question was popped and too, where conception, love, and life began: Paris.

This time however, they brought along with them; the result of their love having brought to fruition--their flower child: Blue Ivy, who seemed to be enjoying herself-having no idea she was visiting the beautiful Mona Lisa, and at a place beautiful in the hearts of her famous mom and dad.
“Ova der I swear I saw them cameras flash

Handprints and footprints on my glass

Handprints and good grips all on my a$$”
Letting her hair down and having a little fun, rather than being famous this time around, Beyonce opted to carry on her very own alter-ego Derek Blanks photography-style of role play of sorts: standing behind the lens of the camera and blending into the crowd taking paparazzi shots of her famous husband and adorable child [right along with the paparazzi].
“Yonce. Yonce. Yonce.”
Real life came into view however when one French tourist, papzi (or onlooker) proceeded to question just who this man carrying the baby was, by asking: “Who is he?” to which Jay Z replied: “Who are you?”
[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdns1RMkc-U[/embed]
Well, Blue Ivy got her chance to play paparazzi and was photographed getting her chance to do what she has been growing up with and will continue to experience for the rest of her life: seeing from behind the lens of a camera from eyes that will always on her—like her famous mom and dad.

But her life, like that of many others, changed on 9/11.

At home with a baby for the first time, she got hooked on shows including Buffy the Vampire Slayer andFelicity and grew eager to segue to TV. Her first pilot, about female war correspondents, landed at ABC, but the network opted not to move forward. "It just seemed like a really tough kind of franchise to sell," says Steve McPherson, who was running ABC at that time. (Sony announced earlier this year that Rhimes was rebooting it as a feature, though now she says she may go another route.) Her next pilot was set in a hospital in Seattle. The title was Grey's Anatomy.

For fourth-place ABC, Rhimes has become so valuable that the network's entertainment president, Paul Lee, has entrusted her with the entire Thursday lineup, the most lucrative night of programming on TV. "Shonda has this ability to create television events," he says, days before her trio of shows collectively debuts to a same-day audience of 37 million. And even at that size, she has managed to maintain an intimacy with her audience — a genuine connection at a mass scale. Adds Lee, "Shows that really pop have strong voices, and there's no stronger voice in America than Shonda Rhimes."

A dollar long and a day late[r]. What a difference a day can make[her].

It was just yesterday it was reported that Houston stripper Jhonni Blaze filed a police report on rapper Drake. According to reports, the police report stated [they wanted to talk to] a “celebrity” [regarding the claims].
In an effort to defend herself, although the stripper and aspiring singer is on record[ing] stating she does not take threats lightly and had gone to the police after being threatened by Drake’s people that she was going to “catch an issue” (should she tell the world about their tryst) she is now changing her tune over these past 24 hours—and apologizing to the rapper, for [what she says now was] miscommunication, stating to the Madd Hatta Morning Show:
"I would never talk about nobody and I don't have nothing bad to say about Drake. I never called the police on Aubrey. I actually called the police because my friend came home and she said that some guys said that they were looking for me. So, I documented that for my protection and for some odd reason people were calling me looney."
She continued:

"I did what was right as a woman and just filed a police report for my safety, in case something happened to me. I apologize to the whole staff and whoever works with Drake. I apologize from my heart."

Bey Z may be off On the Run, but their rhyme aint done.

According to reports, the famous couple is in the stu cooking up something new to drop possibly in December or early next year.
So far, no release date will be given and the husband/wife team is planning a surprise release-replicating and reminiscent of Beyonce’s latest acclaimed, self-titled, surprise album which was released with no notice, super-marketing and publicity tactics, fanfare, or promotion [and too, because of; just recently became the subject of a class taught at Harvard School of Business].
The dynamic duo just wrapped up their On the Run tour in the city of Paris and last two show dates there were filmed for an HBO special on September 20.
Just recently, they were spotted in Paris reportedly searching for a home, as, Paris is the place where Bey Z got engaged, and Blue Ivy was conceived.
Jay Z and Beyoncé are going into the studio to work on a new, top secret album together, sources tell Page Six.

The husband-and-wife entertainers have recently been spotted in Paris, where they looked at real estate near the Élysée Palace last week.

At their final Paris gig to wrap up their recent tour on Sept. 13, Jay had told fans the city was special to the couple because, “we got engaged here and this is where baby Blue was conceived.”

Despite his marital woes, as we reported yesterday, rapper Wiz Khalifa was all smiles when out with his baby boy on Sunday, and was still smiling through Monday morning.

…and Tuesday:

It’s up to you, whether or not you feel the need the sing Prince’s “She’s Always in My Hair,” or chant the jingle “I’m Gonna Wash That Grey Right Out of my Hair,” when looking at the drastic transformation rapper Wiz Khalifa has undergone (since breaking up Amber Rose), as being symbolic of his current situation.
https://twitter.com/wizkhalifa/status/519449912488914946
The fact of the matter is—he did.
https://twitter.com/wizkhalifa/status/519450574350065665
The rapper took to his social media account yesterday and, along with his colorist, posted his step by step before and after process to what he will now be wearing:

Purple.
https://twitter.com/wizkhalifa/status/519623490110906370

Spiritual speaking of the color, of all colors, ‘purple’ is supposed to be symbolic of magic, WIZardry, mystery, sub-conscious mind, creativity, dignity and…(just ask the Prince): Royalty.
https://twitter.com/wizkhalifa/status/519624249883885569
…and well, we love the smiling Wiz too.
