“My city”
My home town is called Andijan which is situated in Uzbekistan. I like
my town very much.
It has a lot of mountains, rivers and a beautiful nature.
What I like mostly in my town is the nature and especially the mountains and
the rich culture.
There is a special day in spring in Uzbekistan which is also very popular
in other islamic countries. That day is called Navruz and it takes place 21st of
March. We prepare on that day a tasty sweet dish called Sumalac. It
is made mainly from wheat and we add sugar.
My favorite place in my town is choyhona, which is translated from
Uzbek language ( tee room or in German: Teestube.) There I can get always
very tasty national food and not only this! To choyhona come
people also to
have a conversation, to drink a green tee with a special aroma and to meditate
under the shadow of the trees! In our choyhona there are also terraces where
you can sit outside.

Uzbekistan Andijan
Andijan is a vibrant city in Uzbekistan, known for its rich cultural history
and as a commercial center in the Fergana Valley.
Sightseeing
in Andijan
The only building that survived during the earthquake in 1902 is the
Friday mosque with the minaret and madrassah (religious school) Jami.
The structure impresses with its size. Andijan Museum of Local History
has a rich collection of various exhibits (about 70 thousand), relating to
archeology, ethnography, fine arts and applied arts.
Andijan people piously honor the memory of their great countryman.
The equestrian monument of Babur is erected in the core city. The
university, the library and one of the streets are named after his name. On
the hill Bagishamal, where, according to the author of Babur-name, there
was his hujra with aivan, the Babur national park
with a majestic
architectural complex is located. There are more than fifty varieties of fruit
and ornamental tree
The central park named after Alisher Navoi also attracts visitors. Its
distinguishing feature is the café, which is under the wing of the
monumental sculpture of the happiness bird "Semurg",. In the old part of
Andijan, travelers are attracted by the memorial museum of Babur, the
Khozhar Noib madrassah, built in the 14th century.
Andijan is famous for its masters in ceramics and artistic chasing. The
gold and silver ornaments of Andijan masters are known far beyond its
borders. Uzbek
national knives and daggers, gracefully embroidered scarfs
and skullcaps, national shoes and handmade dolls are excellent souvenirs
for the memory of Andijan and Uzbekistan.
Today Andijan is an industrial city and capital of Uzbekistan's most
densely populated province. The growth is still based on oil and cotton: the
region is the premier oil producer in the republic and the most intensive cotton
farmer in the CIS, with about 75 per cent of irrigated land turned over to 'white
gold'.
Andijonians are warm and friendly, and whatever concerns they have
about their government appear not to have negatively affected their demeanour.
Most travellers who pass through Andijon are on their way to or from
Kyrgyzstan and don’t linger long. Make no mistake: the
local police are on their
guard here. Have your papers in order and take the normal precautions.
I think Andijan is a great place for me for many reasons. First of all, my
hometown has all types of seasons. One can enjoy hot summers, chilly winters
and rainy monsoons. Since the weather is so great here, one can enjoy the taste
of different kinds of food, and vegetables in different seasons.
Each season
demands a different lifestyle. For example, during summer, people prefer to
wear cotton and light colour clothes to save themselves from hot temperatures.
Whereas during winter, people wear woollen clothes and jackets of different
colours. Hamirpur is well known for farming. We grow different types of crops
like wheat, rice, millet etc.
I have a temple in my hometown. I used to go to the temple every
Thursday with my family. It has a serene atmosphere,
green fields and a
pollution-free environment. If I go there, I feel like it is heaven for me, and I
definitely say that it is just not enough to see the beauty of my hometown in the
rainy season; you have to experience it yourself.
