In Tyler “HERO” – people who needed the help the most couldn’t afford to participate; businesses are helping pay for free or reduced programs thru parks and wildlife, for example a Wii Fit at senior center and possibly a stair step

Collaboration-local hospital working with city to extend trails, create fitness facilities

Worksite Wellness

Austin Wellness coordinator at capitol area complex; a wellness activity calendar is sent via email regularly.

Worksite success-4 steps: free, accessible (close to work, flex time to participate), non-intimidating (all levels there), fun.

Wellness Olympics at work, cooking classes, community center fitness classes-offering diversity in options works

Start at the work place to create a culture of fitness that would trickle down to neighborhoods etc.

Wellness programs for employees that work for WIC-any employee can go through training to create wellness activities at work-ends up improving quality of work & info they give to WIC clients
