The technology of the renewable energy gets the less impact to the environment than the fossil sources. Also the renewable energy never runs out. Because of the this reason renewable energy is very important for the next generations. At the beginning of the 1970’s many countries are increased the their investments on the renewable energy due to petroleum prices.
The energy required for solar electric vehicles is principally about 20 to 30 % of the energy used in conventional vehicles. Internal combustion engines “waste” about 60 to 70 % of the energy to produce heat and use 30 to 40 % only to produce mechanical energy. Good electric drive systems have efficiencies of typically 80% for the motor plus motor control system. Elecrtic vehicles have been energetically researhed and developed to depress the air pollution caused by consunption of the fossil fuels. However they have some problems such as short travel distance, insufficent charge situations, high cost and so on. We have been developing the more practical hybrid car equipped with an electric motor, a gasoline engine and solar cells. There are two power sources an electric motor and the gasoline engine. The two power sources can be automatically changed according to set conditions for driving. For example the car moves as an electric car in the low speed zones such as urban areas and moves as gasoline engined car in the high speed areas such as in the highways.
