An uninterrupted power supply (UPS) provides emergency power and line regulation as well to connected equipment by supplying power from a separate source when utility power is not available. They are used at many places where cutting power can cause big problems such as hospitals, computers, communication equipments, data centers, security sectors, airports, terminals…
At that project a UPS will be designed. The output of the UPS will be a sine wave. Also it will protect the load from faults which occur at the network. When the line power is off, it will supply the load for a few minutes. While the battery is supplying the load or charging, the machine will instruct the user about the battery charging. Also the design must give information to the user about the battery condition.
A detailed block diagram of the UPS at figure 1. As understood from the diagram, our system is a standby UPS. The primary power line is input AC. The network supplies the load over the design and charges the battery while power was on at the input. When a failure or cutting occurred at the line, transfer switch changes power way and the load supplies from the load.
