(1) This event will assume the Mediterranean region as a cardinal subject area, or at least as a main geographical area of reference.

(3) The Eco-Imagine projects is a part of the «Marie Curie Actions» under the EU’s Sixth Framework Programme (FP6, Contract # MSCF-CT 2003-504 444.
It is expected that the re-vitalised Oceans 21 programme, convened jointly by the IGU and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commissions (IOC) of UNESCO, will assume the Mediterranean as a cardinal area.
