Target Group + Translation:
This workshop is open to anyone who wants to make a commitment to social and environmental action. In particular: - You may feel deeply that you have something to give to the world but are unsure how. - You may have already stepped into action and seek nourishment and perhaps a re-appraisal of how you are spending your time and where you direct your energy. - You may be embarking on a new life or new direction. The target group is ex-offenders. We are also happy to receive applications from others who would not normally be able to come on such a programme e.g. those with health issues, those on low incomes and the unemployed.
Main activities Programme + Programme translation:
The key elements of the workshop are: - Shared physical activity: Immerse yourself in practical tasks in the gardens, woods and kitchen. - Facilitated group work: Deep conversation, sharing and coaching. We learn through voicing our deepest feelings and hearing the experiences of others. - Facilitated breath work/therapeutic exercises: A profoundly experiential aspect of the programme, fully supported by our trained facilitators and support staff. - Time spent alone outdoors: You will be invited to spend time on Embercombe’s land in contemplation and reflection. - Creativity and self-expression: Engagement with creative processes and the expressive arts. You will do all this whilst living in a green and beautiful place. Embercombe is a fifty acre small-holding one mile from the Dartmoor National Park. It is comprised of mature broadleaf woodland, a wildlife lake, south-facing meadows, a stone circle, and an organic orchard and garden.
