Adults interested in discovering the Turkish culture of felt handcraft.

Main activities Programme + Programme translation:
DAY 1 - Arrival.

DAY 2 - First meeting with Turkish felt culture. Introduction to felt and Turkish culture. Theoretical classes for making Turkish felt handcrafts. Visiting Beypazarı felt ateliers and Ottoman mansions, seeing felt items as decorative ones, international cultural evening.

DAY 3 - Preparing the felt and its tools. Workshop in the Atelier, preparing a well-known and typical Turkish felt, three dimensional work and a taster of nuno felt, a bag using the resist method, design inside and outside using all over patterning and to incorporate details such as pockets and three dimensional decorations. Workshop in the Atelier, making bracelets and necklaces using beads made from felt. Creating corsages using fine felt and exploring different ways to create fashion jewellery.

DAY 4 - Workshop in the Atelier, continue preparing bracelets and necklaces and making pillows from felt.

DAY 5 - Workshop in the Atelier, creating wonderful felt hats, felt slipper workshop; how to make fancy footwear in a riot of colour.

DAY 6 - Workshop in the Atelier, introduction to advanced felt workshop: felt dyeing, creating presents made of felt, the participants will give these presents to their families and friends, free workshop.

DAY 7 - Certificate ceremony. Departure of the participants.

Adults interested in Turkish culture and language, working with Turkish immigrants. Staff of organisations offering services to Turkish originated European citizens, living in Europe and planning to learn Turkish.
Main activities Programme + Programme translation:
DAY 1- Arrival.

DAY 2- Introduction to Turkish. Meeting people in Turkish local folk dance training (horon). Round table discussion on ideas of courses and exchange of ideas on language learning and teaching.

DAY 3- Meeting basic needs in Turkish. Introduction to present continuous tense in Turkish. Practical session; a city walk under the guidance of the trainer, meeting people and initiating basic conversations. A presentation on Turkish cuisine. Local folk dance training (horon).

DAY 4- Talking about oneself and daily routines. Shopping in Turkish. Practical session; Going shopping and making conversations under the guidance of the trainer. Cooking local food (kuymak and fish).

DAY 5- Cases in Turkish. Family members (talking about family members). Practical session; visiting Hagia Sophia Museum under the guidance of the trainer and creating authentic dialogues). Local folk dance training (horon).

DAY 6- Imperative form in Turkish, cooking and giving instructions, Shopping for food, talking about food; ordering food at a restaurant. Cooking local food (kaygana). Practical session; taking a tour to a Sumela Monastery and creating conversations in Turkish.

DAY 7- Introduction of traditional Turkish clothes. Professional horon dance show and folk dance training. Final evaluation of the Workshop and the preparation of the Workshop report. Closing ceremony.

DAY 8- Departure.

AMAZING TURKISH ART EBRU

Target Group + Translation:
No special skills required. Adults interested in Ebru Art (marbling), a traditional Turkish art, the workshop is also addressing adults being hearing impaired. The beginner level of English is sufficient to communicate. Hearing impaired learners can join with an accompanying person who knows sign language and English to communicate because there is no universal sign language. There are vacancies only for 5 hearing impaired candidates. Participants will have a chance to create their own masterpieces in the workshop.

Main activities Programme + Programme translation:
This workshop will focus on how to make Ebru.

DAY 1 - Arrival. Welcoming the participants and introducing the staff and the place where they will work.

DAY 2 - Giving general knowledge about Ebru including the short history of it. Introducing the materials to be used. We will make selected visits to contemprory Ebru workshops in Suluhan in Ulus, Ankara to explore how Ebru (paper marbling) has evolved through the centruies and how it is relevant today.

DAY 3 - Working Session: Starting to practice using the techniques of Ebru Art (painting Ebru).

DAY 4 - Working Session: Painting Ebru.

DAY 5 - Working Session: Producing the products using Ebru painting techniques. Visiting ''Sevgi Evleri",which is a school bound to Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Policy also making Ebru Art painting with orphan children.

DAY 6 - Working Session: Painting Ebru. Exhibition of leaner's products open to the public and other local institutions in Pursaklar. Giving the certificates.

DAY 7 - Departure.
