About Bei Bang

Bei bang, born in 1982, is an illustrator who lives and works in Shanghai, and is an active member of the art scenes in both Shanghai and Beijing .

Once a top class cutting-edge designer, he is a pioneer in the illustration field in China.

His complex yet delicate drawing style has made him a distinct icon among the post-80s’ generation of emerging artists. His works construct a unique aesthetics of line art, which gradually extracts the unadorned oriental characters.

He is devoted to making black and white line art, and has remained loyal to this drawing style over the years. In today’s commercialized, diversified society, such persistence and determination are rare and precious.
