Contribution to the Society


  1. Introduced the Bio-village concept which aims at human centered development of rural families and imparting knowledge and skill information.

  2. To inculcate the values of growing trees and its importance in contributing to Environmental impact and hence, tree saplings of 200 valuable species were procured from the District forest officer Mr.Anwardin, IFS of State Forest Office, Coimbatore, and supplied to the students faculty and non- teaching staff and they were educated about planting them in front of their houses or any public place near their houses.

  3. In Medicinal garden various medicinal plants are raised and maintained. Medicinal plants were exhibited at Ashwini deluxe hotel on 19th feburary 2006 for the public. More than 50 members including Ayurveda and Siddha doctors visited the exhibition.

  4. Training on Mushroom cultivation given to Self Help Group Periyar Maniammai University on February 2011

  5. Training on Mushroom cultivation given to Self Help Group Visuvasapuram 2012

6. Mushroom cultivation utilizing refuse and to introduce zero waste management


7. Women empowerment, self employment/Entrepreneur –by giving training on mushroom

cultivation to SHG
