Livingston – Funeral services for Donna Bell Burkes, 54, of Barry were held Saturday, Sept 4, 1993, from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Banghart officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Burkes died Sept. 2 in Corsicana. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Timmons of Manvel and Mary Burkes of Barry; four sons, Jerry Burkes of Brownwood, Larry Burkes of Longview, Billy Burkes of Waxahachie and John Burkes of Rosser; four sisters, Bertie Mae Conner of Goodrich, Dovie Hyatt of Galveston, Doris Herman of Livingston and Sarah Cummings of Livingston;

sister-in-law, Rose Speights of Goodrich; 10 grandchildren; one great-grand-

daughter and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers were Slim Speights, Billy Cummings, Edward Cummings, Robert McClelland, Robert Herman Sr. and Robert Herman Jr. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Louis Burnett, 80, were held Sunday, Oct. 8, 1989 from the First Baptist Church in Livingston. The Rev. Frank Hood of Chesswood Baptist Church and the Rev. Orval Barger of First Baptist Church officiating. Masonic graveside services followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Burnett died Oct. 6 in Polk County Memorial

Hospital. He was born May 2, 1909 in Votaw to Alex Burnett and Sarah Alzenia Teel Burnett. He was reared and attended school in Votaw. As a young man, Mr. Burnett joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp in Livingston as a construction worker. Mr. Burnett married the former Minnie Buller on May 7, 1936, in Livingston. Mr. and Mrs. Burnett made Livingston their home since that time. Mr. Burnett was a member of

Trinity Lodge No. 14 AF&AM in Livingston and was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. In 1944, Mr. Burnett received Christ as his savior at the First Baptist Church in Livingston. He had a deep and abiding faith in God and a compassion for people that touched many lives. He taught Sunday school for many years and had a great love for

church music. Mr. Burnett was an electrician for Brown and Root Construction Co. and worked in many different states on large construction jobs such as Bull Shoals Dam in Arkansas and the first Atomic Power plant in the United States, in Shipping Port, Pa. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Burnett of Livingston; one sister, Loa Eason

of League City; three grandchildren, Ricky Burnett and James Burnett of Livingston and Jeanne Burnett of Batesville, Ark.; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Pallbearers were Melvin Radke Sr., Melvin Radke Jr., Don Coleman, Cecil Murphy, Louis Maxwell and Roland Wilder. Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON: - Funeral Services for Minnie Bell Burnett, 90, will be held at 2 p. m

Thursday, January 11, 1007, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Frank

Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Bold Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Burnett died Monday, January 8, in Memorial Medical Center – Livingston.

She was born May 26, 1916 in Livingston, the daughter of Penn and Bell Martin Buller.

She married Louis Burnett on May 5, 1936 in the home of Pastor Wadsworth in Livingston.

In 1930 she was baptized by Pastor Wadsworth. Mrs. Burnett was a member of the First

Baptist Church in Livingston and Livingston Chapter 723 of the Eastern Star. She and

Louis traveled with his job and had the opportunity to live and work in 22 different states.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Burnett; her parents; son Glenn Burnett and brothers, Howard Buller, N. C. Buller and James “Cooter” Buller.

Survivors include her grandsons, Ricky Burnett of Livingston and James Burnett of

Livingston; granddaughter, Jeanne Burnett of Livingston; nine great-grandchildren and

numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jimbo Buller, Tommy Wilder, Jim Buller, Hodge Buller, Tom Riley

and Raymond Radke. Honorary pallbearers will be Maurice Fuller and Johnny Buller.

Livingston – Funeral services for John Burnham Jr., 63, of Livingston will be held at

2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 1996, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Father

Delphyn Meeks officiating. Interment will follow in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Burnham was born June 29, 1932 in Port Arthur, the son of John Burnham Sr. and Bernice Lee Burnham, and died April 23 at his residence. “Mr. John” owned John’s Supermarket for six years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Lions Club. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Laura Burnham; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Annette Burnham of Livingston; daughter, Trish Bonsall of Groves; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lesa Burnham of Fannett; daughter, Diana Burnham of Onalaska; brothers, Frank Burnham of Vidor and Glen Burnham of Houston; and grandchildren, Christie Burnham, Ginger Burnham, Nikki Bonsall, Amber Bonsall, Christal Burnham and Kyle Burnham. Pallbearers will be Jack Darwin, Larry Johnson, Kenny Burnham, Joey Bonsall, Tom Busby and Phelan Land.

Cochran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
