Obituary published in the Polk County Enterprise – February 2, 1986 Edition

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for James Troy Cauthen, 10, of Livingston were held Friday, Jan. 30, 1986 from the Onalaska Church of Christ, with Bro. John Stewart officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Troy died Tuesday evening at his home from injuries he received in a ranch accident. He was a fourth grade student at Livingston Elementary School and was well known throughout Polk County through his involvement in Polk County 4-H Club activities. Survivors include his father and stepmother, James T.

and Lois Cauthen of Huntsville; mother and stepfather, Lydia Faye and Robert T. Walthall Sr. of Livingston; half brother Billy James Cauthen of Huntsville; step sister, Cristel Minter of Huntsville; two stepbrothers, Robert Truman Walthall Jr. and John Glen Walthall, both of Mount Enterprise and grandparents, Lou Etta Nettles of Sulphur, La., Edward Nettles of Corpus Christi; and Mary Walthall of Huntsville. Pallbearers were Sammy Cobb, Dale Fox, Bobby Smith, Jimmy Riddle, Donnis Moore and Richard Morris.

Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Bell Chalker, 75 of Bold Springs were held Thursday, March 19, 1987 from the Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Chalker was born April 24, 1911 in Pennington, TX to Guyle Seale and Della Eddards Seale. She was reared and attended school in Pennington. Mrs. Chalker moved to Polk County and the Bold Springs community in 1928 and had made Bold Springs her home for the past 59 years. She married Wilburn Gaines Chalker on Sept. 22, 1922 in Colita, TX. They had three children, all of whom survive. Mrs. Chalker was a devoted wife and mother making her family and her

church her life. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs. Survivors include her husband, Wilburn Gaines Baines Chalker of Bold Springs; two sons, Eldon Chalker of Jasper and Cloyce Chalker of Corrigan; five brothers, Leonard Seale of California, Frank Seale of Liberty, Ralph Seale of New Caney, Clint Seale of Splendora and Doyle Goodman of Daisetta; sister, Birtie Claiborn of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and dear friends. Pallbearers were Roland Wilder, Harold Issacs, M. C. Morris, Doug Hand, Clay Lawrence and R. H. “Tubb” Rogers.

Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Wilburn Gaines Chalker, 89, of Jasper were held Saturday, May 22, 1999, from Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs, with Bro. Frank Hood and Bro. Leonard Budro officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Chalker died Thursday, May 20, in Jasper. He was born Dec. 27, 1909 in Nacogdoches, the son of Walter Lee Chalker and Ada Jane Hand Chalker. Mr. Chalker moved to the Livingston community when he was 15 years old and often bragged that he had had the same address for 72 years. Mr. Chalker owned a logging company. He loved to squirrel hunt, enjoyed gardening and always read the Polk County Enterprise. The last few years he lived in Jasper and looked forward to getting the Enterprise. He would read it from cover-to-cover and always read the obituaries out loud to his family, mentioning something personal about each person listed. He was known as someone who was loved and admired.

He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lola Mae Bennett Chalker of Carthage; sons, Eldon Chalker and wife Martha of Jasper, and Cloyce Chalker and wife Phyllis of Colmesneil; daughter, Ada Jean Davenport and husband Ray of Livingston; step-daughters, Belvery Collins of Willis, Sandra Templeton of Fairplay and Helen DeLeon of LaPorte; stepsons, Don Bennett of Grand Prairie, Herbert Bennett of Humble and Larry Lee Bennett of Round Rock; daughter-in-law Louise Chalker of Livingston; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul G. Chalker; and sister, Willie Lee Coker. Pallbearers were Allen Buller, Bobby Chalker, Caleb Chalker, Eldon Chalker II, Chris Lucas and Merle Pulley. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie

Adams, Kenneth Baker, Doug Hand, Clay Lawrence, Robert Richardson and

Roland Wilder. Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
