Obituary published in the Polk County Enterprise - January 6, 1980 Edition

LIVINGSTON – Services were held from Bethel Baptist Church at Bold Springs Dec. 31 for George Bomer Pierce, 67, who died Dec. 29, 1980. Rev. Frank Hood officiated, assisted by Rev. C. L. Moore. Interment was in Bold Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dave Boaen, Oliver McPike, Johnny Riley, Billy Gene McPike, Bobby Pierce and Billy Pierce. George Pierce was born May 8, 1912, the son of Fletcher and Roxie Ray Pierce a native of Polk County, he was born in Corrigan. He was reared in the Corrigan, Leggett and Bold Springs areas. He has been associated with the timber industry most of his life. Ill health forced his retirement about 10 years ago. He attended the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lela Redd Pierce of Longview; one son, Dawan Pierce of Longview; three daughters, Denver Ree Nix, Ester Hack and Dwanie Pritchett, all of Longview; one brother; Chester Pierce of Livingston; three sisters, Pearl Lawrence of Livingston; Lillian Yates of Diboll, Lola Maud McPike of Livingston; and

a host of other relatives and friends.

Marie Louise Plott, 84, of Beaumont passed away on Monday, June 9, 2003 at her residence. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2003 at Voth Road Baptist Church under the direction of Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Bold Springs Cemetery near Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00

to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Groveton, Texas she had lived in Beaumont since 1984 and was a Home Missionary for the Southern Baptist Convention. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Don L. Plott of Beaumont, daughters, Betty Baltzell and husband, Charles of Sugar Land, Michelle Potter and husband, Dave of Copperas Cove; sons, Geoffrey Plott and wife, Claire of Fulton, MO, and Mark Plott and wife, Carol of Cedar, MN; sisters, Violet Flynt of San Antonio, Marguerite Smith and Jeanette Sanitz both of Houston, and JoAnn Komacizk of Brenham; brothers, Coye Vestal of Brenham and Harold Vestal of Woodville; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held for Lawrence Meredith Quebe, 54, Wednesday from the

Chapel of the Pace Funeral Home in Livingston with burial in the Bold Springs

Cemetery. Mr. Quebe, who was born July 3, 1918 died Monday as a result of a heart

attack. He resided at the Pike Harbor subdivision in Onalaska at the time of his death.

Livingston – Funeral services for Nell Estelle Allen, 74, were held Wednesday, Feb 26, 1992 from Pine Forest Baptist Church, with the Rev. Marvin Martin and the Rev. Duane Alcorn officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Allen was born

Sept. 30, 1917 in Robertson County, the daughter of William Hulsey and Evie Bates Hulsey. She married Cy Allen on July 3, 1976 in Bryan. Mrs. Allen was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, James D. Wilkerson and Stephen

Allen. Survivors include her husband, Cy Allen of Onalaska; sons, Warren Wilkerson of Houston, Roy Wilkerson of Lake Jackson and Bill Wilkerson of Houston; stepson Paul Allen of Houston; brothers, Joe Hulsey of Calvert and W. D. Hulsey of Elkins, Ark.; sisters, Mildred Massey of Waco, Faye Simmons of Calvert and “Bill” Elliott of Bryan; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roland Spivey, Bill Whitehead, Bob Stutts, Bud Wolfe, Charles Lund and Willie Nelson. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pine Forest Baptist Church Building Fund.
