6Тема «Моя любимая сказка» (My favourite fairy-tale)

My name is Christine. I’m fifteen years old. I would like to tell you about my favourite fairy tale of childhood.

Books have always interested and attracted me. From the very childhood I like listening to my grandmother’s stories. She normally told me some popular fairy tales, including Cinderella, Masha and the Bear, Beauty and the Beast.
My favourite book was about Alice in Wonderland, which was written by a well-known English writer Lewis Carroll. It’s a story about a curious little girl, named Alice, who falls down a rabbit hole and meets lots of strange creatures there. When it comes to this fairy tale, I’m ready to hear, read or watch it infinite many times. I liked every moment of this tale, for example, when Alice drinks the magic syrup and becomes small enough to sneak into an attractive garden. Later, she eats a piece of cookie and becomes of a tremendous size. She cries so much that her tears flood the hallway. When she becomes small again, she has to swim through her own tears. The tale is full of such abstract incidents, but they are setting wonderful atmosphere.
During her trip Alice meets many friends in this imaginary world. One of them is the White Rabbit, who is always in a hurry. Another noteworthy character is the Cheshire Cat, who has a distinctive mischievous grin. One of my favourite parts from the book “Alice in Wonderland” is “A Mad Tea-Party” with the Hatter and the March Hare. They seemed to be having such a good time. Perhaps, the worst character of the fairy tale is the Queen of Hearts. Her favourite phrase is: “Off with their heads!”. She nearly killed Alice for being disobedient. Each time I heard this tale, I imagined being in this fantasy world and walking the same routes Alice did.
I love fairy-tales very much. They take me to the world of magic and adventure, fairies and glorious princesses. I think I like all of them but my favourite one is “Cinderella”. This beautiful story was written by Charles Perrault in 1697. When I was a baby my parents often read it to me before going to bed. Now I can read it myself and there are also cartoons and movies named “Cinderella”.
Once upon a time there was a sweet little girl whose name was Cinderella. She had a very kind and gentle heart. Her mother died, so she lived with a wicked stepmother and her terrible ugly daughters. Poor girl was very unhappy because they made her work hard all days long.
But one day Cinderella’s fairy godmother made her dream come true: she helped the girl to go to a royal ball. Godmother turned a pumpkin into a magical coach, six mice – into six horses and the girl’s old dress – into a fabulous gown. At the ball the Prince fell in love with Cinderella and danced with her all the evening, but the beautiful girl had to leave the ball and come back home before midnight.
So she ran down the steps of the palace and lost her tiny shoe. That lucky shoe helped the Prince to find Cinderella in his kingdom.
And, of course, my favourite fairy-tale, like all others, has a happy end. The Prince married Cinderella and they lived happily ever after... And I think that this wonderful story will live in my heart forever because it reminds me that our dreams always come true.

I would like to tell about Karlsson, my favourite character from a famous book written by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. Karlsson is a short, stout, overconfident man, who lives in a small house on the roof of an ordinary apartment building.
Karlsson has a button on his belly. When he presses this button, it activates a little propeller on his back. Thanks to this he can fly.
Karlsson made friends with Lillebror, a little boy who lived in one of the flats. His parents love him very much, however Lillebror often feels lonely. Karlsson and Lillebror became best friends.
We don’t know how old Karlsson is, but his jokes and games seem to be very funny for little children. Karlsson is very imaginative. A lot of ideas cross his mind all the time. He knows how to entertain the little boy.
Karlsson is a real expert when it comes to playing a trick. Despite all this, I would say that Karlsson is a positive character. He supports Lillebror, he is always there when the boy needs him, he listens to him and helps him a lot.
