The Unit of Microbiology and Genetics, a CNRS laboratory (UMR 5122) associated with the University of Lyon and the INSA of Lyon greatly wishes to integrate young researchers in 2007.
The laboratory is situated on the Campus of La Doua in a building of the University of Lyon. This campus includes several laboratories working in biology, genetics, ecology and bioinformatics.

The main interests of the Unit of Microbiology and Genetics are in the area of adaptation and pathogeny of various types of micro-organisms, bacteria, yeasts or fungi. The laboratory gathered 8 research teams working from the molecular to the cellular level, in projects related to interactions between a pathogenic micro-organism and its host (plant or animals), between a micro-organism and its environment, and between micro-organisms. Competencies of the laboratory cover the domains of microbiology, genetic, molecular biology and biochemistry.

The Unit of Microbiology and Genetics could easily offer 50 m2 to a new team in its building, including an experiment room and an office. The laboratory furnishes common services for preparation of media and sterile material, as well as common equipment for microbiology, protein biochemistry and molecular biology. In addition, a half-time technical assistance could also be affected to the new team.
