COMMENTS FOR THE AUTHOR

Authors have considered an interesting problem in the area of Convective Heat Transfer. This paper can be published in IJPAM with the following modifications:

  1. Table 1-3 may be removed. It is needed to include a figure as Fig.6 which should be plotted for steady state average Nu verses Gr for λ = 0 , 0.5 or 1.0 and Pr = 0.05, 0.7 and 10.0 with the ranges of Gr = 20, 000 to 200, 000.

  2. References of recent studies on variable viscosities for incompressible fluids (water) with viscosity data table and natural convection in a square cavity can be included as :

Authors have discussed in detailed the flow and thermal fields along with the overall heat transfer rates at the wall for a natural convection flow in a square cavity with a built-in heated plate. The investigation can be considered as a useful contribution. I recommend the paper for publication in INT. J. Thermal Science after taking care of the following modifications:

  1. Page-5, line-3 from the top, θ = θ0 should be θ = θc .

  2. Page-8, in the para just before conclusion, “overall heat transfer for higher Gr stays almost the same in both situations while heat transfer is higher for vertical situation than horizontal one for small Gr” ----these lines should be corrected because Fig.14 shows that Nu is higher for vertical situation.

  3. Two recent references should be included as :
