Engineering Geology Of Marmaray Project Sirkeci Station And It’s Environment
The rock mass of inner tunnel and surface deformations, cover thickness, cross-section of excavation, grade of excavation and properties of support systems of Marmaray Project Sirkeci Station has been investigated in this study as Thesis of Master of Sience in the İnstitute of Science of İstanbul University
There are manmade layer and kuşdili Formation on the Mosty clay contented Trakya Formation that includes Tunnel route inside. Thickness of Manmade layer and Kuşdili Formation are avarage 8 – 12 meters during tunnel route. Therefore, İts vitally critical to investigate in tunnel and surface deformations for Sirkeci area that surronded by constructions
According to data obtained, surface and in tunnel deformations are highly affected by dyke intrusion and fault zones. The weak zone created by South Platform Tunnel, which has been excavated first, has affected North platform tunnel and increase its deformation level. At the tunnel route, in tunnel and surface deformations has raised at large cross sectional areas.İncreased rock bolt numbers and lengths keeps surface settlements under 15 cm which is alert level limit. Due to wide distrubiton of manmade layers and excisting of Kuşdili Formation which is acting like manmade layer, have made surface settlements values higher then in tunnel deformations. Used classify for his tunnel Japan highway classify, have translated to RMR values and in tunnel deformations associate to that RMR values. At the parts has low RMR values, in tunnel and surface settlements have raised inversely correlated. İt has been determinated that RMR values have affected deformations for all tunnel route.
