Suggestions from Users:

  1. The accessibility to the satellite based data sets and images are unacceesble even when we try to login to ftp also it is denying.
Coming to IMD website satellite archieves they are not at all accessible as per the requirement as the user is concerned because the data and images of the so many dates are missing withing the prerequisite period. As a Govt.of India property IMD should release atleast at this juncture all its archieves to the research community except those of specific security concerns. Plese try to encourage the young resrachers by providing the datasets on regular basis atlease of all twenty first century data sets.

  2. In Metdata Better to give ISRO number wise, so that customer can easily find ISRO No

  3. Data should be accessable to scientific community.data quality should be assured otherwise there is no use of the entire programme.queries on related areas should be addressed in reasonable time.

  4. Data quality should be mentioned for improving the utility to the scientific community.

  5. Querries on the interested areas should be addressed in reasonable time.

  6. There should not be an upper limit in number of data products ordered at a time.

  7. The site is very slow. IT could be speeded up.

  8. MOSDAC given a Clear picture to Aware Village level and Other Vulnerable people for Expecting Heavy rain or other risk its data base update only once in a day you must to Update it in every 6 hours so that people know that Some heavy system where suppose to attack with that we must save some lives in Disaster

  9. Make it more appealing and also provide some online application.

  10. Any initiative to forecast/analyse daily weather as it happens in layman's language will be appreciated. Would like site to identify experts available on call/e-mail...

  11. For plotting AWS data, more than one field be allowed at a time. Also, OLR data, which is useful for researcher, not available (images are not for research).

  12. Should maintain the index of all the database to get fast access.

  13. Downloading problems particularly for AWS data. Link remains down on most of the times.

  14. Availability of AWS data on daily, weekly and monthly basis will be helpful in carrying out further processing speedily.

  15. Erroneous AWS data may be masked. For instance rainfall plot some times shows very high rain rates. Some algorithm may be put to mask those values. Some quality flags may be introduced for AWS data (which indicates the likelihood of sensor not working properly).

  16. List of locations of AWS are not alphabetical or begins with the name of the station. It needs to be made easy to brows the place of interest or based on the AWS number search. can compare with the best web the committee knows

  17. Keep it simple. Do not use heavy java apps/large images.

  18. I would suggest the data be kept in .nc format so that it can be readily be used using Grads or ferret etc.

  19. The website should be maintained in the lines of MODIS and AERONET.

  20. The data format should be user friendly and if possible a brief software tools to read the data and its application shall be included.

  21. The browsing may please be made user friendly. Spatial or temporal aggregation of some of the parameters of AWS could be done on the fly rather than providing the raw information.

  22. Please provide auto downloading facility from your site for linking into our applications live. This can be direct data downloading or through simple query result by giving the parameter and location of interest, which is embedded into our application.

  23. Quality of data and the reception regularity has to be improved. Since I am quite aware with the present problems, I am sure that the quality of data can be improved with our combined effort.

  24. There should be some preliminary quality check measures before leaving the data for others. Data should be of standard format and sequence. It looks sometimes that data is just dumped.

  25. When I am downloading the lager number of data, problem was there and in data search for cart also.

  26. Collect more parameters and easily downloadable for researchers. Earthquake is more vulnerable natural’s hazard so that some more parameters added in your MOSDAC website.

  27. Please make all the data available on ftp site. So by logging in one can download it any time. No need to first order the data and then wait for it to get it ready for downloading.

  28. During Monsoon period the INSAT pictures should be updated hourly.
