Figure 5 demonstrates both the respective contribution of emotional abuse notifications to notifications as a whole, and its distinct pattern of high and increasing notifications compared with those for other notifications.
Substantiations of emotional abuse double in the 2003-07 period (861 to 2241). From 2007, the rate of uninvestigated emotional abuse notifications increases distinctly.
Neglect
Notifications of neglect double from 2003-05, and continue to increase through 2007, before stabilising.
Substantiations double from 2003-05 (80 to 160), before declining.
