'Whoever does a good thing for an individual, and he says: 'Jazaak Allah Khairan', he has certainly done his part in thanking him.’ (Saheeh al-Jami) *One should give gifts to their neighbors. A'ishah, with whom Allah is pleased, said: 'O Messenger of Allah () I have two neighbors, who should I give a gift to?' He () said:
'Give it to the one who is closer to you.' (Saheeh al-Adab) *Giving gifts becomes more praiseworthy when people are in need of it. This is clear from the story of the Battle of the Trench.
*One should not refuse a gift that can easily be afforded by the one who is giving it. The Prophet () did not refuse good things that were given to him. The Prophet () said:
