“Yes, I want a quiet table today. I feel tired. Also I am not very hungry.”
“Perhaps a sandwich and some soup?”
“That’s a good idea. Please bring me a menu.”
“Of course.” (The waiter shows Mr. Taylor to a small table in the back of the restaurant and gives him a menu.)
“The ham sandwich looks good. Do you have rye bread?”
“Yes, would you like lettuce and tomato on your sandwich?”
“Please. And I want the bread toasted. And a little mayonnaise. Would you like something else?”
“Yes a glass of iced-tea.”
We have vegetable soup today. Would you like to try it?”
“Yes, please.” (The waiter brings the food and Mr. Taylor eats his lunch.)
“What do you have for dessert today?”
“We have apple pie, ice-cream and chocolate pudding.”
“Bring me, please, a piece of apple pie with vanilla ice-cream. Also bring me a cup of coffee and my check, please.” (The waiter gives Mr. Taylor his check.)
