Finally, Jaime Delgado presented documents m15430 and m15431. The first document, supported by 11 organisations, presents some work on a mapping from text contracts to MPEG-21 REL. The conclusions are that extensions and a new profile could be useful to be able to express in REL existing contracts between content producers and content distributors. Document m15431 points out one of the problems raised during the analysis and mapping definition of the other document; i.e., the expression of the Exclusivity, that does not follow the current REL approach, since it refers to obligations of the license issuer.
A discussion on these issues took place. It was concluded that, although a REL profile considering the first part of the value chain (pre-distribution from content owners) should be useful, it would be better to wait until the first results of the MPEG media value chain ontology be available. In that moment, a better analysis of the existing and missing profiles for the whole value chain would help.
