The contribution proposes corrections to PVC part of USAC DIS text.
-
Add missing argument to sbr_sinusoidal_coding()
-
Correct typo bs_dt_env[][]
-
Define the acronym PVC (Predictive Vector Coding)
The contribution proposes corrections to PVC part of USAC DIS text that also require changes to reference software.
-
Modification to support independency flag
It was the consensus of the Audio Subgroup to adopt into the Study on DIS all changes proposed in this contribution.
The contribution proposed some text that describes the PVC encoder, to be added to the informative annex of the USAC specification. The presenter further noted that the full source code for the PCV encoder has already been integrated into the MPEG Reference Encoder. Markus Multrus, FhG, noted the PVC functionality has been integrated into the USAC normative decoder source code.
It was the consensus of the Audio Subgroup that the integration of the PVC CE is complete and that the informative text in the contribution will be included in the informative annex of the Study on DIS.

The contribution presents information on how to derive the applause detection flag used by the Transient Steering Decorrelator (TSD) tool. The contribution describes a detector method based on a trained supervised learning approach, as further described in a referenced paper. This method has shown a 95% correct identification of the target transient events. The informative text is given in the contribution.
It was the consensus of the Audio Subgroup that the integration of the Applause CE is complete and that the informative text in the contribution will be included in the informative annex of the Study on DIS.
The Chair asked for the status of the following CEs that are in integration phase:
Increased structural Flex. in SBR (1:4)
|
Some informative text has been provided. There is a full implementation in the encoder source code.
|
Enhanced performace at mid-bitrates
|
There is a full implementation in the encoder source code.
|
QMF Harmonic Transposer
|
This has no role in the encoder.
|
Low-complexity decorrelator
|
This has no role in the encoder.
|
Markus Multrus, FhG, noted the PVC functionality has been integrated into the USAC normative decoder source code.
It was the consensus of the Audio Subgroup that the integration of the Increased struct. Flex. in SBR and the Enhance Performance at Mid-bitrates have satisfied the requirements of integration and hence are complete CEs.
The CEs QMF Harmonic Transposer and Low-complexity decorrelator do not require any changes to the USAC encoder, and so have satisfied the requirements of integration and hence are complete CEs.
