| m29206 FINB Comment: Multiview-video-plus-depth profile to MV-HEVC [FINB of WG 11]

The current plan is to define MVC-style stereo in HEVC; this proposes an additional profile for MVC+D with more than two views (HLS-only approach with no change below the HLS).
Evidence of market need was requested to be clarified.
It was suggested to treat depth maps in the same way as an alpha channel – and perhaps to put it outside of profiling. That seemed like a good approach in the joint discussion.
"3D HEVC" is a potential scheme with joint coding of texture and depth, currently as WD, which would have more efficient coding.
