TURGUT ÖZAL'S POLITICAL PORTRAIT WITH ITS MAIN LINES: AN EVALUATION
IN THE LIGHT OF VISION, POLITICS AND DISCOURSES
Abstract
In general, the main mechanism that directs the policies of a state has been constitutional
institutions and their manifestations. Exceptionally, in some states in certain periods, the politicians
who headed the administration managed to integrate personal and
national potential into the
conjuncture and played a prominent role in directing the state. One of these charismatic leaders is
Halil Turgut Özal. In the research, Özal's personal development and career, which will be able to
integrate Turkey's national potential into the conjuncture, are discussed in general terms. Free
market economy in the field of economics; the domestic policy moves of Özal and his government,
which aim to create a multidimensional liberal understanding in
the political-cultural field, have
been examined and the extent to which these moves have been successful in line with the stated
goal has been questioned. Bureaucrats in the foreign policy rhetoric of
the period considering the
opinions of their actions and the broad scope of foreign policy-oriented perspective,
the Turkic
republics towards politics also researched, evaluated whether
the implementation has been
successful in shaping and foreign policy.
