Q: I’m using a cdn to host my images; how can I still use an Image Sitemap? A

de-a lungul timpului m-am tot lovit de faptul ca Google nu prea indexeaza imaginile de pe site-urile facute cu ajutorul platformei Magento. Momentan lucrez la un site la care sunt trimise prin GWT undeva in jurul la 260 000 de imagini insa nu e indexata nici una. Acelasi lucru l-am patit si cand am lucrat la sportaddict.ro … tot Magento, tot o gramada de imagini neindexate.

Lucruri care m-am gandit eu ca o sa ajute la indexare:

• 
  Momentan in fisierul robots.txt este linkat un sitemap care contine mai multe sitemap-uri  O sa le recomand sa linkeze fiecare sitemap direct in fisierul robots.txt
  
• 
  Sitemap-urile sunt sub forma comprimata (sitemap.xml.gz)  O sa le recomand sa le regenereze sub forma simpla si momentan sa foloseasca atat sitemap-urile arhivate cat si cele nou create nearhivate (am vazut ca Yahoo si Bing prefer sitemap-urile nearhivate si site-ul cu pricina are ceva trafic si din motoarele respective de cautare)

Acces rapid la fisierul robots.txt (eu am verificat si folder-ul /product/ nu este blocat)

A: Cross-domain restrictions apply only to the Sitemaps’ tag. In Image Sitemaps, the tag is allowed to point to a URL on another domain, so using a CDN for your images is fine. We also encourage you to verify the CDN’s domain name in Webmaster Tools so that we can inform you of any crawl errors that we might find.
