If the word survived (in Tolkien’s conception), it would appear as *hunda- in Third Age Quenya, since Tolkien decided that fu- tended to become hu-. This could result in such words as *hunda- vb. “to thunder”, gerund *hundië (which could then express “thunder, thundering” as a noun).
