Upon termination of the Contract pursuant to GCC Clauses 21, or upon the issue of the Final Acceptance Certificate pursuant to GCC Clause 89 hereof, all rights and obligations of the Parties hereunder shall cease, except
Upon termination of the Contract by notice of either Party to the other pursuant to GCC Clause 21 the Contractor shall, immediately upon dispatch or receipt of such notice, take all necessary steps to bring the Works to a close in a prompt and orderly manner, make the Site safe and secure, leave the Site as soon as reasonably possible, and make every reasonable effort to reduce expenditures for this purpose to a minimum.
The Engineer shall, as soon as is possible after termination, certify the value of the works and all sums due to the Contractor as at the date of termination.
In the event of termination a report of work performed by the Contractor shall be drawn up by the Engineer as soon as possible after inspection of the works, and inventory taken of temporary structures, materials, plant and equipment. The Contractor shall be summoned to be present during the inspection and the taking of the inventory. The Engineer shall also draw up statements of emoluments still owed by the Contractor to workers employed by him in relation to the contract and of sums owed by the Contractor to the Public Body.
