Italy is an interesting destination with a lot to offer in culture and art. Given the influence of the Roman Empire in the world, Italian society has become influential and offers a lot in terms of cultural and historical heritage.

Before traveling to Italy, here are interesting facts about Italy that will help you understand a little more about this wonderful land and why some things in this country are what they are.

1. Italy takes its name from the word Italia which means "land of calves". This is probably because southern tribes in Italy used the bull as their symbol.

2.The Italian flag is green, white, and red, symbolizing hope, faith, and charity.
