Areas in process of desertification are those who are at imminent risk of environmental degradation of their renewable and nonrenewable resources affecting their population aspect of production or economic and may involve human action, natural disasters and / or both. On this basis, this study aimed to verify how it behaves Desertification core area of the economy of Cabrobó-Perbambuco through INSA from the database - National Institute for the Semi-Arid, Ministry of Science and Technology - MCTI and Database Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE. So focusing on the economy was noted that in the state of Pernambuco where per capita income is R $ 7,912.72, the GDP Cabrobó core varies between R $ 6,453.70 (Bethlehem San Francisco), to R $ 11,314, 66 (Forest) and making increasingly see the participation of the secondary and tertiary sectors of the economy also showing a gradual decline in production and the production of diversity over time. But the primary sector still holds the largest representation in the nucleus of 66% involving temporary and permanent crops and with the area explored over 74.60% to 97.46% can leave environmental liabilities as salinization and contamination of soil and water by pesticides and metals heavy extend beyond creation without regard to the pasture carrying capacity causing reinforces the need for a more effective diagnosis and management in order to adequately target crops and livestock to be better use and recovery areas.
