University Science Instrumentation Centre

Introduction
University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) was established in 1978. It is a Level-II centre and renders services to the different departments of the University in terms of Maintenance, Repairing and Fabrication of scientific equipments. The Centre broadly runs as per UGC guidelines.

Special Activities
-
USIC is working jointly with the Computer Centre, NBU towards maintenance and up gradation of NBU – LAN Internet setup.
-
All the officers of USIC act as resource persons and trained the PG students (Chemistry dept) about the application software MS office 2007, especially word document, excel and power point which help them to prepare and present their seminar lecture, project presentation etc.

Seminar / Special Lecture Organized:
This year University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) organized five different special lectures in collaboration with the various science departments of the University. The eminent scientists in their fields deliver the valuable and useful lectures and discussed with the teachers, research scholars and PG students in this regard.

Central Major Equipment Facilities (CMEF)
The first phase of CMEF building already been constructed and Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal, Prof. Bratya Basu inaugurated the building on 13th February, 2012. UGC has already sanctioned Rs. 2,00,00,000/- (Rs. Two Crores), vide ref no. 76-7/2011 (SU-II) dt. 13.10.2011, and procurement process for purchase of one FE-SEM and one AFM on its way.
