A apresentação na televisão do filme "Le Chagrin et Ie Pitié", em 1971, um documentário sobre o colaboracionismo numa pequena ci-dade durante a ocupação alemã, baseado em entrevistas retrospectivas, também foi um fator importante no início do trabalho de história oral.
