The article dedicates to the investigation of lexical and phraseological characters of Ashug Shamshir’s poem language who was the one of the masters of the 20th century. In order to create the whole impression about the lexical-semantic characters of the poem language of Ashug Shamshir the classification of the language units is given which have been observed, the representation of the new style shade in lexical-semantic catagories of the poem language of the master is especially mentioned. As it is known the base of the phraseology consists of the characteric combination created by the folk. That is why the investigation of the phraseolgical units in ashug’s poems which form the harmony with the content and the proverbs used by the ashug according to the essense are studied. During the investigation the figurative expression system used in the poems are brought to the notice on the base of the choosen examples. It is also noted that the language of the poems by Ashug Shamshir differ due to its deep figurativeness, the richness of grapic description and expression means, emotional characters.
