2.1.4.6. Shipping Types
There are 5 type of shipping as follows:
• Conference Liners: An association of ship owners operating in the same trade route who operate under collective conditions, fixed schedules and agree on tariff rates.
• Non Conference Liners
• Alliance: A cooperation of 2 big shipping companies both in line and facilities usage.
• Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC): A cargo consolidator in ocean trades who will buy space from a carrier and sub-sell it to smaller shippers. The NVOCC issues bills of lading, publishes tariffs and otherwise conducts itself as an ocean common carrier, except that it will not provide the actual ocean or intermodal service.
• Tramper: A shipping liner that operates its vessels with irregular schedules and terminals. Their operation based on the supply and demand.
2.2. PT. PANURJWAN Company Profile’s
2.2.1. The Holding - PT.SAMUDERA INDONESIA Tbk.
PT. SAMUDERA INDONESIA Tbk. was established in 1964. The company started its operation as an ocean going shipping liner for the Europe and Japan routes. Over the years the group has diversified and grown as the Company kept pace with the industrial and infrastructures development in the country and the region
PT. SAMUDERA INDONESIA has now grown to become one of the regional shipping and transport companies. The company operates 46 vessels and operates more than 27 branch office in major ports in the archipelago and 5 representative offices in regional countries, employing 2,611 peoples.
The company offers a full range of transportation services from feeder, tanker, offshore and land transportation for containers and heavy equipment to container depots and warehousing as well as freight forwarding business.
2.2.2. PT. PANURJWAN
PT. PANURJWAN was established on 11th January 1968 as a subsidiaries company of PT. SAMUDERA INDONESIA. PT. PANURJWAN is an inter-island shipping liner, which provides sea transportation services for moving goods. Currently type of services provide by PT. PANURJWAN are as follows:
1. Inter-island shipping
PT. PANURJWAN main business is as a liner service company, which provides regular voyage or schedule voyage to the destination ports. PT. PANURJWAN provide Term of Shipment (TOS) as follows:
a. CY-CY: shipment of goods from port to port
b. CY-Door: shipment of good from port to final destination
2. Shipping Agency
PT. PANURJWAN can also operate as general agency for other principal shipping liner.

1. Marketing Division:
Responsible for the marketing activity of PT. PANURJWAN Consist of several sub division/unit:

2. Operation Division:
Operation Division is lead by a Division Head who reports to the General Manager. Main functions are to manage and control the ship and container operation activities such as ship voyages, ship procurement, agency assignment and etc. The Operation Division is divided into sub division as follows:
1) Fleet:
a. Daily ship monitoring
b. Ship arrival and departure scheduling
c. Monthly reports and analysis of ship operations
d. Bunker and water procurement
2) Vessel Logistics
a. Provide support for ship operational by providing procurement, maintenance, ship spare parts and certification.
