422 Ms Fitzharris proposed that this recommendation include the following matters:

A remission of a proportion of any lease variation charge applicable for purposes that include a demonstrable community benefit, including but not limited to



  • Childcare;

  • Healthcare and health services;

  • Aged care, services and accommodation

  • Sporting, fitness and recreation facilities; and,

  • Affordable rental accommodation.

The Government consider extending the LVC remissions as part of the ‘stimulus package’ beyond their current expiry date of 5 years.

This motion was not agreed to by the Committee.

424 Mr Rattenbury and Ms Fitzharris proposed that this recommendation include other matters, as follows:

That


  • the proposed 2% increase in the community contribution be held in a ‘community fund’ to be managed by a panel of government, industry, community and sporting organisations;

  • the ‘community fund’ establish a different focus than the community contribution payments managed by individual clubs, for example: larger grants, infrastructure grants or annual themed grants.

This part of the motion was not agreed to by the Committee.
