From June 1995 to Nov 1995 in the University of Rochester , NY. USA ; Deptt of Chemistry Synthesis of modified thiopropyno uridine incorporated oligonucleotides . The thiopropyano uridine units were incorporated adjacently and disulphide bond was formed by oxidation. The disulphide bond containing oligonucleotides stabilized both DNA/DNA and RNA/DNA duplexes with high affinity and selectively. The disulphide (s) containing oligonucleotides also stabilized triplex with high affinity. Inhibition experiments to check the usefulness of disulphide containing oligonucleotides also carried out.
