He was for many years worker, Faktor (operator), craftsman, a partner and director of the copper Foundry to Stachelau egregius, mining and at the blast furnaces to Olpe. He died 4 weeks for the large city fire to Olpe. The buyer-"Hütte" at the foot of the Rhonard-my is already mentioned in 1587. (Privilegien-Streit der Stadt Olpe, city archive) In the period around 1580, the back mountain mining started by the elector of Cologne, Ernst, Duke of Bavaria from 1583 to 1612. Around 1604 one would already have started again a second time.
Elector Ernst stayed several times, for example. in 1603 and 1609, in Stachelau and Olpe to the copper factory to visit. (Cf. Pieler, "Casper Fürstenbergs Tagebuch". The fully expired "" "the Rhonard Kupferbergwerk" at Olpe became by the electors of Cologne in Jobst Edmund von Brabeck bequeathed to 1684 (Later the Bishop of Hildes-heim). (From contacts of the family Hundt in Olpe).
The Factor (operator) Stachelau WEBER, appointed by the Freiherr von Brabeck, leads a "Stahlhütte" in Dohm at Olpe. He versmeedt are rough steel in part itself on with 2 firing conditioned "Stahlhammer" in Dohm. This Hut was first completely owned by the Freiherrn von Fürstenberg in 1751. Later the Hütte with Hammer half ownership of the Freiherrn von Brabeck half of Johann Bernard Weber from Stachelau. He takes out his iron ore from the mines of the Rhonard, Elben and also from the distant Winter at Friesenhagen in wall (from the nearby County of Wali of the counts von Hatzfeld) production iron: 420 zentner/first week, later zentner 280/week. To all their steel was in 1742 on the own Hammer forged, later they also supplied steel to the neighbour "Stahlhammer" even down to the County of Mark. (Cf. j. j. von Stockhausen).
Johann Bernhard Weber to Olpe and lived not in Stachelauerhütte! He died 4 weeks before the great city fire of Olpe. Obituary: On 29-3-1795 died my beloved friend after an active life full of love of neighbor. On 31-3-1795 was the distinguished and by airy Mr Johann Bernhard Weber buried. He was for many years Faktor (operator) and competent leader of the "Hüttewerk" at the three noble and venerable brothers, Mr Edmund von Brabeck Wodernus, Werner and Mauritius. He was married to the virtuous Ms Maria Elisabeth Wacker. He retired in peace.
The widow WEBER left a house build in the Westfälische Strasse No. 29 (= home place 82). Widow "Faktor"-Weber sold in 1821 her home to the town of Olpe who wanted to use as the City Hall. The House "Weber", located next to the station building, since 28-3-1849 was the seat of the Court of Justice of the Kreis Olpe. The House was with 1/3 enlarged and rebuilt several times later.
