Incom 2012 14th ifac symposium on Information Control Problems in Manufacturing May 23 25, 2012, Bucharest, Romania Special Session on: From dss and gis to buildings and urban management Proposed by
Short presentation: The relationship between climate change and sustainable urban development implies the necessity to develop more and more Geographical Information Systems (GIS) including Decision Support Systems (DSSs) to help planners implementing public policy, individual and collective practices, and the undermining urban engineering. The decisional process handled by urban planners is generally not supported by software and it still remains a human process. Nevertheless, the control and understanding of the climatic change has been a subject of many investigations in the last few years. Indeed, several GIS platforms including dynamical models able to predict the climate change have been proposed and constitute the base of few existing decision support systems. However, these works did not take into account the optimization of consumption and production of renewable energy towards zero emissions architecture.
The purpose of this special session is then, to present recent researches and developments combining Geographical Information Systems and Decision Support Systems towards sustainable environment.
We invite scientists from universities and companies to submit their contribution (theoretical researches and or developed software) regarding the climate change, renewable energy, GIS/DSS tools and information technologies.
