COMPETITIVE TENDERING AND CONTRACTING
The ASC has outsourced the delivery of Sportnet services, conferences and workshops, library cataloguing and indexing and the delivery of international aid programs.
Sportnet, a leading national on-line network based on Internet technology, has been developed in cooperation with Telstra. It effectively outsources the provision of the national infrastructure to Telstra through the development of Intranet and Internet network and sport specific applications.
During 2000-01 the ASC market tested a number of its other services. As a result, sponsorship sales and servicing was outsourced in late 2000-01, and IT and the Business Development Unit are expected to be outsourced in early 2001-02. The outcome of a market test of the ASC’s property services will be known in early 20012002. The outcome of a market test of full service publishing of sport education materials and assistance with the delivery of coach accreditation programs will be known in late 2000-01 or early 2001-02.
