Multi-Resolution 3D Mesh Coding (MR-3DMC)

Connectivity Coding for Multi-Resolution 3D Mesh
Summary: The explanation of the method of Alliez, which is the base of the proposed method. The proposed method is performing a local re-triangulation. It is proposed a prioritization of the gates.

The compression performance is increased because the number of reduced vertices is increased.

Resolution: Include the measure of the complexity under the form of the processing time. Report this for the next meeting.

Minsu Ahn, James D.K Kim

14:30 – 16:00

More results on texturing support for MR3DMC (Multi-Resolution 3D Mesh Compression)
Summary: The contribution is presenting a technique for measuring the error of texture encoding.
Resolution: AP: continue the experimentation and validate on other models. Think about joint coding of geometry and texture by considering the texture as a vertex attribute.

David Fuentes Sánchez , Francisco Morán Burgos

Joint with Video on RVC/RGC

RGC implementation for QBCR
Summary: The contribution presents the design of several FUs for QBCR and the RVC-CAL implementation.
Resolution: update the CE with respect to objectives and procedure.

Christian Tulvan, Marius Preda

16:00-18:00

Room B106

Comments on the RGC implementation of M20067
Summary: presented together with the next contribution
Resolution: none

Seungwook Lee, Ji Hyung Lee, Sinwook Lee, Cui Li, Euee S. Jang

Contribution of SC3DMC FUs for RGC framework
Summary: proposal of some FUs inspired from 3DMC and SC3DMC and the associated tokens

Proposal of describing the FUs with a diagram and the algorithm in text

Resolution: Make a new part of MPEG-4 for GTL

Binarisation & Streaming

Update of BodyTemperatureType

The ABOType is using 3 bits since only 4 types can be detected by sensors.

The ElectrographSensorType may contain several samples (controlled by the parameter numOfSamples). However the ElectrographSensorType will be in one single AU. Therefore, if a finer granularity is needed (eg one sample per access unit), this may be obtained by considering several AU.

The ECG sensor type defines the waveform labels based on the combination between the electrodes placed at different positions.

To define a WaveformLabelECG, WaveformLabelEEG. Same for EMG and EOG.

There is no need for ElectrographSensorBaseAttribute type. The max value should go in the ElectrographSensorBaseType.

Bend sensor

Proposal of the BendSensorChanneCapabilityType (diff number of locations, distance btw loc and axes). Also a diff number of channels is allowed.

For the sensed information, the Bend sensor can contain one or several temporal samples. For each temporal sample, the whole spatial sensed data is provided (all bends, all axes, all sensed locations)

Software

AP: create the MPEG-V directory on SVN and upload the RefSoft (Christian Timmerer). Create a Utility directory.

Camera type:

Define a base capability type (includes resolution, color space, number of bit per pixel) and extend this type for both texture and depth images.

Investigate if camera intrinsic parameters should be also part of the sensor characteristics

Lunch Break

12:00~14:00

14:00-18:00

Joint meeting with requirements and systems on Collaborative BIFS

An architecture indicating a collaborative server on the server side, a collaborative agent.

A set if definitions are presented.

A set of requirements are presented.

In the requirements document it should be kept only the ones related to the scene. The others go in the annex because they will not be addressed by the standard directly but by the referred ones (such as XMPP). Context and objective should be updated.

MPEG-V/MPEG-U

Problem: we should define the interfaces if we want to use the MPEG-U part 1.

Solution: we can define the interfaces automatically from the schema definition of each type.

Jean-Claude can provide a tool that converts the XSD into MPEG-U Part 1 Interface (InterfaceElement). This tool should be part of the utility software.
