4Reconfigurable Video Coding (RVC)
The main issues in RVC were as follows:
I) Regarding MPEG-B part 4, it was not possible to proceed with promoting the CAL extensions to PDAM status as was originally planned. Further investigation (software/CE) is necessary to investigate benefits of two basic proposed approaches:
1) a C like syntax for arrays,
2) definition of external functions not available in CAL (so that it can be used for instantiating proprietary implementations but cannot simulate a specification)
3) a definition of "units" and "packages" as it is defined in Java
versus
1) objects on the current extension for arrays
2) provide a more general definition of external functions that also support simulation of the specification
3) a more general and complex formal definition of namespaces to build libraries
Further, it was planned to issue a new edition, integrating the text of Cor.1.
II) Regarding MPEG-C part 4, it was detected that description of an FU is missing on the specific implementation of the parser of the MPEG-4 SP decoder. ISO/IEC 23002-4 therefore needs a corrigendum adding reference to this FU. In a subsequent new edition including all amendments so far, further improvements will be needed such as rearranging the sections and moving general FUs to the following section on general purpose FU:

5.3 Texture decoding
5.4 Motion decoding
Further, a note is to be added to the specification stating that the reference software and conformance bitstreams are attached to the document
