Karim El-Gawhary, born 1963, has been working as a freelance correspondent for the Middle East in Cairo for German-language media for almost two decades. Since 2004 he is head of the Middle East Office of the channel ORF. In 2011 he was awarded the Concordia-Publizistikpreis for his coverage of the Arab Spring. Together with Mathilde Schwabeneder he published „Auf der Flucht. Reportagen von beiden Seiten des Mittelmeers“ (Kremayr und Scheriau).
Sebastian Engelbrecht, born 1968, studied journalism at the Deutsche Journalistenschule in Munich. From 2000 until 2007 he worked as an author, editor and presenter for Deutschlandradio Kultur and Deutschlandfunk. From 2008 until 2012 he was ARD radio-correspondent in Tel Aviv. Recently he returned to Berlin and Deutschlandradio.
