Continued Discussion of Remaining Open Issues
Production-Side Zoom Control
Sony experts bought additional information on this technology. The presenter noted that production-side zoom uses user-side zoom rendering tools, so there is no new technology required. Furthermore, bitstream signalling is done in a backward-compatible way using extension elements. Additional bitrate can be very low, e.g. 80 bits per second.
The Chair noted that there was no support for this functionality from Video or Systems experts at the joint meeting on this CE held at the 111th MPEG meeting.
There was no decision made concerning this technology.
Frequency-domain prediction and time-domain post-filtering CE
Max Neuendorf, FhG-IIS, presented additional information concerning this CE:
-
A slide showing how often one, either or both tools are active is the list of stereo signals.
-
Results of a listening test of CE(both tools) – RM0 (i.e. differential) showing:
-
Five items better, mean better (value of 4)
It was the consensus of the Audio subgroup to incorporate Frequency-domain prediction and time-domain post-filtering technology into MPEG-H Phase 2.
