1766 1855 QV 1d dark green, imperf, wmk large star. with large part of the special "CANCELLED" barred h/s applied by Perkins Bacon. (This being one of the so called "Ormond Hill Specimens" when in 1861 Perkins Bacon supplied 6 examples of many of their current & earlier issues to Rowland Hill's son-in-law. Despite the fact that all these stamps were obliterated with "CANCELLED" h/s, the Agent-General for the crown Colonies vehemently objected, & this led directly to Perkins Bacon losing their stamp printing contracts to Thomas De La Rue). F-VF, typical margins. SG 1(var) cat £10,000+ & especially desirable with such a large portion of the h/s. Great rarity as only 6 examples produced (only 3 recorded in private hands) & a most important South Australia "specimen" stamp. Ex Jaffe collection & certificate can be obtained on request. 1781 1886-96 QV Postage & Revenue £15 silver, wmk "crown narrow SA" SIDEWAYS, perf 10, from 1st printing. VFU with full "G.P.O. Adelaide / 16 MY 00" cds, original silver metallic sheen. SG 207 cat £27,000 for M, unpriced for U, & should be valued at least at similar level. This is the ONLY EXAMPLE with postal cancel of SG 207 ever recorded, & should not be confused with examples of the £15 from later printings SG 207a upright wmk perf 11½ (of SG 207a there was apparently a part sheet in remainders that were CTO). While the vast majority of SG 207 were opt specimen, with only a tiny number issued mostly for fiscal use, even as fiscally used it is extremely rare with less than 10 recorded, while with proper postal postmark this is the only example ever recorded.
