Preparatıon of Natural Antıbacterıal From Egg Shell
In this thesis project, the antibacterial agent is defined as the calcination product of eggshell. When the organic parts of eggshell is removed, by calcination at 599 oC and more, approximately 900-1200 oC,it gains an antibacterial property.
During the calcination process,nitrogen is used as an inert gas. Calcination time is 60 minutes and preferably between 45 minutes and 120 minutes.
At 800 oC, air is given through the process in order to remove the organic parts of eggshell by oxidation that could not be removed by cleaning. After that, the process carries on without air and the temperature is increased up to 1050 oC ± 20 oC. Organic parts are removed and a white colured substance is obtained.
Calcined product is prepared to the desired particle size. pH range of the solution prepared is 12-13.The particle size of the calcination product is 200 mesh or less.
Furthermore, the fresh food is applied to the aqueous solution or dissolved in water as 0.05% - 10%, preferably 0.1% - 5% is used. The calcination product is soluble in water,it can be used in spray form or as a solution,preferably 0.1-5 % concentration in water.
