Investigation of Large Rapidity Gap Events at CMS Experiment
The differantial cross section of forward rapidity gaps () is measured in proton-proton collisions at TeV using minimum bias data sample of CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of . An exponantial falling non-diffraction contribution is observed at small rapidity gap sizes and the differantial cross section for events is approxtimately measured as 1 mb per unit of gap size. In addition, the energy flow () in the forward rapidity regions of CMS detector is measured for different event classes at and TeV collisions. The measurements are made in the pseudorapidity range 3.15 < |η| < 4.9 for minimum-bias events and events with at least two high-momentum jets, and the results are compared to the predictions of various Monte Carlo event generators.
